At Something Special we have a large collection of antique Moroccan rugs that we acquired ourselves in the country of origin, Morocco. We search remote places for the rugs and fabrics that we currently sell in our store.

Nowadays, the high demand for these works of art woven by hand in the Atlas mountain range has led us to provide you with the service of making CUSTOM CARPETS.

We work directly with artisan women who dedicate their time exclusively to weaving the rugs with the pattern, color, design and size that we request.

A custom-made rug currently made is impossible to have the natural wear and tear and appearance of the vintage rugs that are so popular, but if it is the result we want to achieve, we expose it to the sun for a few days, even weeks, thus achieving a degradation in the colors, a wilder wool and a less new appearance.

There are no returns.

Size variations: Due to the 100% handmade manufacturing of our rugs, there may be slight variations, never more than 10 cm.

Color Variations: Due to the natural dyes we use, color shades may vary slightly from one rug to another.

WASHING AND CARE TIPS

A Something Special rug is for life; To make it last longer, we recommend that you follow these washing and care tips:

Check the capacity of your washing machine (always on the wool and cold water program). If the size of the rug exceeds the recommended capacity, we recommend taking it to a specialized laundry.
Made with natural fibers. This may cause slight shedding of fibers for a while, especially after the first few washes. This process will decrease over time, as the carpet is vacuumed (always in low to moderate suction mode).
Folding wrinkles will gradually smooth out after placing the rug on the floor, allowing the fibers to adapt naturally. However, you can put the rug in the dryer to speed up the process before using it for the first time.
